A little preparation can help us make the most of your time in our chair. Whether you’re visiting us for a fresh cut, dimensional colour, a blowout or a complete transformation, here’s everything you need to know before arriving at Kroma Salon.

Haircuts

Come as you are! Your haircut includes a consultation, so feel free to arrive with your hair styled as you normally wear it.

We recommend bringing a few inspiration photos to help communicate the length, shape, layers or overall look you love. Be ready to chat with your stylist about your daily routine, how you typically style your hair and how much maintenance you’re comfortable with.

Best prep: Bring inspiration photos and come ready to talk about your hair goals.

Hair Colour

For most colour appointments, we recommend arriving with dry hair that hasn't been heavily loaded with styling products, oils, root sprays or dry shampoo. Your hair does not necessarily need to be freshly washed unless your stylist has instructed otherwise.

Bring photos of colours you love—and even colours you don't—to help your stylist understand your vision. If you have previous colour, box dye, henna, Keratin treatments or other chemical services on your hair, please let your stylist know during your consultation.

Major colour transformations may require more than one appointment to achieve your desired result while prioritizing the health of your hair.

Best prep: Dry hair, minimal product buildup and plenty of inspiration photos.

Root Touch-Ups

Arrive with dry hair and avoid applying root sprays, powders, heavy oils or excessive dry shampoo before your appointment.

If you're visiting a new Kroma stylist, let us know about your previous colour history so we can create the best possible match.

Best prep: Dry hair with minimal product at the roots.

Highlights, Balayage & Blonding

Come with dry hair and avoid heavy styling products, oils or root-covering products beforehand.

Bring inspiration photos that reflect the tone, brightness and placement you're hoping to achieve. Your stylist will assess your current colour, hair condition and colour history before determining the best approach.

For major transformations, maintaining the integrity of your hair is always our priority, and your desired result may require multiple sessions.

Best prep: Dry, product-light hair + inspiration photos.

Toner & Gloss

Arrive with dry hair unless your stylist has provided different instructions.

Think about what you would like to adjust: Do you want your blonde cooler? Your brunette richer? More shine? Less warmth? Your stylist will help customize your toner or gloss accordingly.

Best prep: Know what you'd like to refresh or adjust about your current colour.

Blowouts

You can arrive ready to relax—we'll take care of the wash, prep and styling.

If you're heading to an event afterward, feel free to show your stylist your outfit or inspiration photos so we can tailor your finish to the occasion.

Best prep: Bring inspiration if you have a specific finish in mind.

Luxury Blowout

Prepare to be pampered!

Your Luxury Blowout includes a relaxing wash and scalp massage, ORIBE Signature Hair Mask Treatment, smoothing round-brush blow dry and the finishing touch of a flat or curling iron.

There's no need to wash your hair beforehand.

Best prep: Simply arrive and let us take care of the rest.

Special Event Hair

For most special-event styling appointments, arrive with clean, completely dry hair unless your stylist has instructed you otherwise.

Avoid heavy oils or leave-in products that may make the hair difficult to style. Bring inspiration photos and any accessories, clips, veils or extensions you'd like incorporated into your look.

Wear a button-down, zip-up or wide-neck top if possible so you don't have to pull clothing over your finished style.

Best prep: Clean, dry hair + inspiration photos + your hair accessories.

Special Event Makeup

Arrive with a clean, makeup-free face whenever possible.

Follow your usual skincare routine beforehand, but avoid trying new products, treatments or aggressive exfoliation immediately before your appointment.

Bring inspiration photos and let your makeup artist know your preferences—from natural and soft to full glam.

Best prep: Clean, moisturized skin + makeup inspiration.

Hair Extensions

Extension appointments begin with ensuring the right colour, length, method and amount of hair for your desired result.

For an extension consultation, arrive with your hair down and styled naturally so we can properly assess your colour, density, texture and current length.

For an installation appointment, follow the specific preparation instructions provided by your Kroma extension specialist. In most cases, you'll want to avoid heavy oils or styling products near the roots.

Best prep: Follow your extension specialist's personalized instructions.

Keratin Treatments

Arrive with your hair as you normally wear it so your stylist can properly assess its natural texture, frizz and overall condition.

Before your appointment, let us know about any recent colour, lightening, smoothing or chemical treatments. Your stylist will determine the best treatment and timing for your hair.

Plan ahead: your appointment may take several hours depending on your hair length, density and treatment selected.

Best prep: Tell us your full colour and chemical-treatment history.

Hair Botox Treatments

Hair Botox is designed to deeply condition, smooth and revive dry, dull or coarse hair.

Arrive with your hair as you normally wear it so your stylist can assess its current condition and texture. Let us know about any recent colour, lightening, Keratin or other chemical services.

Best prep: Come as you are and share your recent hair history with your stylist.

Bridal Hair Trials

Your bridal trial is where we bring your wedding-day vision to life.

Please arrive with clean, completely dry hair and bring:

  • Inspiration photos

  • A photo of your wedding dress

  • Your veil and/or hair accessories, if purchased

  • Hair extensions, if you plan to wear them

If you're considering extensions but haven't purchased them yet, our team can help source and colour-match them for you.

We recommend wearing a top with a similar neckline or colour to your wedding dress when possible—it can make it easier to visualize the complete look.

Best prep: Clean, dry hair + everything that helps us see your wedding-day vision.

Bridal Makeup Trials

Arrive with a clean, makeup-free face and complete your normal skincare routine beforehand.

Bring photos of makeup looks you love, along with photos of your dress, hair inspiration and any details about your wedding aesthetic that may help your artist understand your vision.

Avoid experimenting with new skincare products, facials or aggressive treatments immediately before your trial.

Best prep: Clean, hydrated skin + plenty of inspiration.

A Few Things to Know Before Any Appointment

Bring inspiration. Photos are one of the best ways to communicate your vision—but remember that every head of hair is unique. Your stylist will customize your inspiration to suit your hair type, texture, condition and lifestyle.

Tell us your hair history. Previous colour, box dye, bleach, extensions, Keratin and other chemical treatments can affect what's possible during your appointment. The more we know, the better we can care for your hair.

Give yourself enough time. Colour corrections, transformations, extensions and smoothing treatments can require longer appointments. We recommend avoiding tight plans immediately afterward.

Not sure what to book? That's okay! Contact our team before booking and we'll help determine the right service and appointment length for your hair goals.

Most importantly, come ready to relax. We'll take care of the rest. ♡
